The Oath of God on Your Life | Jonathan Cahn Sermon
Now, why is it even talking about this?
A lot of times we hear things, we don’t even look at the context.
The context of hebrews is saying this.
First of all is talking a lot to jewish believers who are growing weary. Okay.
And so he says, he says before that he’s saying basically he says, don’t get complacent about your faith.
Press on. Don’t don’t get lazy, don’t get don’t get lax, don’t fall, don’t get don’t fall back, press on, stay strong, press on and diligent, then imitate those who had the promise made to them and they inherited them, one of which was a Abraham.
So then it goes into Abraham who God swore and he says after patiently waiting, he was a long time.
He didn’t see the promise? Years and years. He didn’t see the promise, he says.
But he waited patiently and he held on in faith and he kept going in faith and then God did it.
And God swore to him he’d do it. That’s what it’s saying.
It’s saying there as Abraham, your spiritual father had a promise on his life.
You are an heir to Abraham. You’re like a little Isaac or Rebecca. You have a promise on your life.
You’re a child of hope. Abraham’s Children are Children of hope, Children of promise.
It says, What does it promise me? A promise means there’s a promise on your life.
It means something good is coming.
Promised means for the Children of Abraham you means the best is yet to come.
It means you’re not of gloom, you’re not of defeat your of the promise your of hope.
You’re of the promise, but not just a promise. You’re of the one. The promise that was promised by God.
That means it’s greater than the world means that the promise is backed by an oath.
God swore over your life. Not only that he swore by himself.
How strong is the promise over your life? How strong as strong as God is. How strong is the oath?
Strong as God by himself? Unchangeable. Backed up by the life of God. That’s the collateral. God didn’t just swear.
He need to say something loose. He swore by his own life.
