Young Nigerian man bags Chemical Engineering degree at US university, wins UK Rhodes scholarship to earn masters

A young Nigerian man named Ayomikun Ayodeji has bagged a Chemical Engineering degree at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States and has been awarded the prestigious Rhodes scholarship to study for his masters in the United Kingdom.

Ayomikun obtained a dual bachelors degree in in Chemical Engineering (with a concentration in process data analytics) and Management at Masachussets Institute of Technology, United States.

He took to Linkedin to celebrate his achievement of winning the Rhodes scholarship despite the rigorous process. Ayomikun shared that he won a scholarship to study for his masters at the Univerassity of Oxford, United Kingdom.

”I am bursting at the seams with joy and gratitude, so much so that it’s been difficult to put into words. I have been selected as a Rhodes Scholar-Elect for West Africa! Next fall, I join the #RhodesClassOf2024 to pursue my postgraduate studies at the University of Oxford,” he said.

Ayomikun said he is grateful to God for providing him with people who selflessly supported him throughout his process of earning the scholarship. He thanked his family stating that their daily prayers and sacrifices uplifted him.

He thanked his colleagues noting that they fuel his passion for learning and also his mentors who inspired him to dream big and live bigger.

Ayomikun expressed his gratitude to the Rhodes West Africa organizers, selectors, and finalists who filled every one of their interactions with joy and gave them a fierce reminder that the future of their continent is bright.
